2002 Second Quarter Newsletter
Greetings to you all in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Following is an update of all that God is doing at the Dream Center (SRDC). First and foremost, thanks to you all who continually pour in to the kingdom of God with your prayers, time, and financial support. God continues to bless our efforts!
* Regeneration Kidz Truck - The Regeneration Kidz truck that will be used to run the programs in the parks (similar to the Metro Kids trucks) is now insured, registered and ready for a face lift. Praise God for providing and blessing this ministry. Regeneration began the spring season last week and had a great turnout. If you are interested in volunteering (Sunday evening 4pm - 5pm), or helping with painting the truck, please contact Anthony at (209) 612-0263. These kids are truly being changed by the power of God!
* Convalescent Visitation Powers Up! - Our wonderful group of dedicated volunteers are building an even stronger team to minister to the elderly at New Hope Convalescent Home in Tracy. Former leaders Peggy Arnold and Carol Carpenter, among others, are returning to the home and gearing up to join Leah Brown and make a great impact in the lives of our elderly freinds. Thank God for keeping our loving family together and providing a way where there seems to be no way.
* Wal-Mart Grants SRDC $1,000 - As a member of the Tracy Chamber of Commerce, SRDC was referred to as the charitable organization of choice for a $1,000 grant from Wal-Mart Corporation. The presentation of the grant check will take place July 16 at 8am. God continues to move mightily to provide for the SRDC
* New Ministry in the SRDC! - Sisters Susan Garcia and Sandy Davila have developed a special relationship with the South Side neighborhood kids in Tracy. These kids desire love and guidance from adults that they are missing desparately. Susan and Sandy take these kids every Thursday and teach them bible stories and provide fun and music to uplift their souls. Please keep in prayer the need for a building to run programs such as these in the Dream Center outreaches. The name of this outreach is "King's Kidz."
* Adopt-A-Block Testimony: Victory Christian Church's Men's and Youth Ministry Pitch in! - submitted by Rick Bartholomew - Michael and I met with the Men's leader and Junior High youth leaders at Victory Christian Church and soon they will be joining Adopt-A-Block. I believe this will open the door for other churches to join forces with us as we take on this city to build the kingdom of God. It will help us reach more people so we can build those relationships and plant good seed. Adopt-A-Block is always open for your input and most of all your prayers so if you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or you just want to encourage please contact me at (209) 993-5678. Thank You and God Bless
VCC is dedicated to see lives impacted through SRDC outreaches. This church is resolved to sow into the good work God has begun in our city. Praise the Lord for VCC and may God bless them abundantly.
* Street Ministry Band 'Search & Rescue' Update - submitted by Eddie Perales - Serve Him! Serve Him! Serve Him! We have commited to serve Him with the gifts and talent He has given us, but do not consider ourselves more than others. We are but worms yet we can stand in great in-expressable joy because of what He has done for me and the work He is doing through us all. Because of that what the S and R band is doing I am asked often by fellow commuter’s, in our mass transit commuter world, about what is that I do. That then leads into conversations about God, Jesus, relationships. I praise Him for all He’s done and is doing and for giving me the opportunity to share Jesus even when I am not on stage. Pray that every word we say may plant seed, bring a lost one home, or bring comfort and healing. I expect miracles because God is faithful and I can’t wait to see the harvest because of what God is doing through us all.

They have been working very hard and I believe God will bless them for there works.

* Victory Christian Church support - Victory Christian Church has pledged to support the SRDC with volunteers and finances! Pastor Ralph's philosophy is "Let's not reinvent the wheel, but take part in what God has already started." Praise God for him and this awesome church. We pray as they sow into ministry, that God returns the blessings ten-fold. Many thanks to VCC! Visit them at http://www.vcctracy.org.
* Eddie Perales Band leader - Eddie Perales, bass player for Search & Rescue and worship leader at Valley Community Baptist Church, will be heading up the Search & Rescue Band street ministry. Pray for these ministries as they take the light of the gospel into the darkness of this world!
* Adopt-a-Block testimony - Through the ministry of Adopt-a-Block (namely Susan Garcia), a woman who was heavily considering an abortion decided to keep her baby! This new child will be the first "offspring" of our ministry! Thank God for His work through a willing vessel. Recently, Valley Community Baptist joined forces with us for Adopt-a-Block, bringing their entire youth out to serve the community. Many have said they want to continue to help and plan to come back every Saturday. * 501(c)(3) status - The SRDC has finally achieved its 501(c)(3) status! Thank you Lord! This means that we are tax exempt on both federal and state levels and lists us as a charitable organization for public donations. This new status is retroactive to March 16, 2001 and will open many doors to financial support to reach more souls with our programs. Glory!
* Donate online with Network for Good - If you visit our web site, http://www.srdreamcenter.org, you'll see that there is a new button that reads "Donate Now through Network for Good". This (free) new feature will allow anyone visiting our site to donate to the SRDC online and it will immediately go into our bank account. Pray that people will see the good in our purpose and be moved to support us.
* T-shirts still available - If you haven't got your SRDC shirt, there are still some left. A suggested donation of $10 is requested to cover the cost of the shirts and help us raise money to purchase more. See Cheryll Serrato if you would like to get one. "Serving the community... serving Him."
* Brochures available - The SRDC brochures are also available at your request. These informational sheets describe all the programs in place at the SRDC and provide contact information. Please contact me if you would like to obtain any.
God bless you all and thanks again for your prayers and support. We're all in this together, united as God's army, to serve our fellow brothers and sisters. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
